We celebrate today with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Model of the Church and Model Disciple. In religious art she has at least four postures: Kneeling, Standing, Embracing, and Resting. We too are called to: kneel in adoration of Jesus, stand at the ready to do God's Will, embrace Jesus in the neediness of the poor, and take a regular Sabbath rest in order to be recharged for ministry.
