Jesus makes the second prediction of his passion and death leaving the disciples speechless. They and we want to deny the intimate connection between suffering and love. Looking at unavoidable suffering as God's gift to us for growth in holiness changes it to redemptive suffering. Let us unite our suffering to that of Jesus Christ and so fall deeper and deeper into love with him.
